KANDY, Sri Lanka, November 7, 2015 – Marlon Samuels hit a superb unbeaten century on Saturday but West Indies lost to Sri Lanka for the third time in the One-Day International Series.
The 34-year-old made 110 not out – his ninth ODI century – which included with 15 fours and a six under lights at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
The knock earned Samuels the Man-of-the-Match award and followed up his 63 in the second One-Day International on Wednesday.
West Indies batted first and made 206-9 off 36 overs in the match reduced due to heavy rain. Sri Lanka were set a target of 190 off 36 overs (Duckworth/Lewis Method).
They reached 180-5 off 32.3 overs and were declared winners by 19 runs when another rain interruption brought the match to an end.
Both teams meet on Monday in the first of two Twenty20 Internationals.
