BANGKOK, Thailand, February 7, 2012 – Clive Murray has signed a two-year contract with Thai Second Division side ROI- .ET united.

The player travelled to the Far East on Wednesday to meet his new team mates and put pen to paper.

Murray, the former Paradise FC striker, scored Grenada’s first goal in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Tournament last summer and is highly rated as one of the bright crop of youngsters coming through in the Spice Isle.

He becomes the second Grenadian to play in the Far East following Otis Roberts who had a stint in Hong Kong in the mid-90s.

Murray said of the move “I would like to thank the people who have supported me in my career so far, and to Otis and Jason Roberts for helping me to secure this opportunity here, and to the GFA for supporting me and helping me showcase my skills on a national level.”

“I will give my all and aim to make Grenada proud and I hope other players may have the opportunity to follow in my footsteps,” he said.

Murray also thanked former Muangthong United footballer Zesh Rehman for his support and the club for giving him the chance to shine in Asia.

The 21 year-old striker was the first player to score for Grenada in a CONCACAF Gold Cup when he opened the scoring against Honduras at the FIU Stadium in Miami in Grenada’s penultimate game of the 2011 tournament. However, his goal was in vain as Honduras defeated the Spice Boyz 7-1.
