Delron Felix

ST GEORGE’S, January 4, 2018 – Grenadian top male swimmer Delron Felix has been awarded a scholarship with the International Swimming Federation, FINA.

The announcement was made by the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) in a media release on Thursday.

GASA said that the FINA Scholarship Programme provides an opportunity for swimmers to train and prepare for their participation in regional and international swim meets which concludes at the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships in Hangzhou, China in December.

“Felix will receive from FINA personalised training at a high-performance training centre, the SPIRE Institute located in Ohio, USA,” said GASA.

“This opportunity provides Felix with the most suitable training tailored to his specific needs at this critical point in his swimming career.”

GASA said that the specialised training will assist Felix in his preparation for regional and international meets including the CARIFTA Championships scheduled for Jamaica in March, Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) Championships for Aruba in June and the Youth Olympic Games for Argentina in October.
