GFA LogoST GEORGE’S, August 31, 2016 – There were contrasting results on the field of play as Fontenoy United won its first game of the season while Hurricane was on the losing end for the first time in the 2016 campaign in the Premier League of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday.

Fontenoy defeated Boca Juniors 3-1 at Beausejour Playing Field to move out of the cellar position of the Premier League.

Meantime, Hurricane lost its first game after nine encounters this season after a 3-0 defeat from Hard Rock at the Cuthbert Peters Park.

Chantimelle also got some valuable points with a 3-0 victory against Gouyave FC in the late game at the Cuthbert Peters Park while Mt Rich and Queens Park Rangers played to a 3-3 draw at Fond.

The second round of the GFA starts on the weekend with all teams in competition.

Fond will stage a double-header on Saturday with Mt Rich playing St John’s Sports at 6:00 p.m. followed by Hard Rock and Boca Juniors at 8:00 p.m.

On Sunday, Fontenoy United plays Chantimelle at Beausejour Playing Field at 4:00 p.m. while Gouyave FC hosts Queens Park Rangers in the first game of a double-header at Cuthbert Peters Park in Gouyave. The second game features Hurricane and Paradise FC at 8:00 p.m.
