“This year we are playing for fun and to bring awareness to the young and old,” said Glynis Roberts, President of the GNA.

She is encouraging all netballers interested in playing, even without a team, to contact the GNA since this season is all about outreach and rekindling the interest in the sport.

“This continues every weekend in a different parish finishing in the capital. It should run for six weeks bearing in mind the weather could be a factor,” she said.

Meanwhile, former Jamaica national coach Oberon Pitterson-Nattie recently conducted a coaching seminar and training for coaches and the national team in Grenada.

Pitterson-Nattie visited the island from April 17-20.

“The sessions were really helpful to all. Her analysis of the players was really optimistic and likewise the girls were really enthusiastic with her contributions. We hope she can return soon to continue the programme,” said Roberts.

“The GNA wants to thank all those in New York who contributed to the fundraiser for her (Pitterson-Nattie) initial trip and also the local community as well as those who are assisting.”
