NEWCASTLE, UK, May 14, 2016 – Grenada is one win away from winning the Challenge Cup of the 2016 Netball Europe Tournament here at Northumbria University in Newcastle.

The ‘Spice Ladies’ recorded their fourth consecutive victory with a 78-24 score over Switzerland on Saturday.

Ace shooter Lottysha Cato was in top form with a 97 per cent conversion, netting 30 of her 31 attempts. She played the first half and Renisha Stafford completed the other two quarters with 21 from 26 and goal attack Cecile Roberts converted 27 from 30.

Switzerland, ranked 28th in the world, were restricted to single digits scores in all quarters with their biggest gain of seven goals in the third quarter. The Grenadians led 24-6, 42-12, 59-19 and 78-25.

Grenada will next play the United States on Saturday evening after already defeating Israel (87-19), Gibraltar (82-38) and defending champion Republic of Ireland (59-53).

The USA lost to Republic of Ireland 44-33 in an earlier match on Saturday.

Grenada is the only Caribbean team participating in this year’s tournament, which also features England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales in the Championship section.

Grenada is joined by the United States, Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, Malta, Israel and Gibraltar for the Challenge Cup.
