ST GEORGE’S, April 24, 2016 – The Grenada Netball Association (GNA) has announced a 12-member squad to participate in the Netball Europe Championships in England next month.

The team, to be led by Deeann Gooding, will participate in the Challenge Section of Netball Europe which also involves the United States, Gibraltar, Ireland, Israel, Malta and Switzerland.

The other members of the team are Denise Cameron, Lattysha Cato, Renee Cooper, Shakera Fortune, Tiffany Frederick, Sharon Jeremiah, Deeanne John, Keshanice Mitchell, Cecile Roberts, Renisha Stafford and Kerissa Thomas.

Nadine Lett is the manager and Oberon Pitterson-Nattie and Kathy-ann Williams-Gabriel as coach and assistant coach respectively.

The national side opens against Israel on May 12 in a morning fixture and plays Gibraltar in an evening match. The following day they play the Republic of Ireland.

The Championship Section involves host England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

All matches will be played at the Sport Central Northumbria University in Newcastle.

Meanwhile, the national side will contest a five-match series against Trinidad and Tobago, starting this weekend at the Tanteen Netball Complex.

The Trinidadians arrive in Grenada on Thursday and play the first match on Friday, followed by two on Saturday (7:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.); Sunday May 1 (7:00 p.m.) and Monday May 2 (6:30 p.m.).
