The Championships are scheduled for a newly built stadium in San Jose, Costa Rica from August 6-8, 2015.

The stadium, a 35,000-seat facility, was donated by the Government of China and has an indoor warm-up track, a hotel behind the stands and two giant video screens at each curve.

The winner of each event will advance to the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China with an A standard.

President of NACAC, Victor Lopez said that attempts will be made to get the top athletes of the region to compete in the Area Championship like they do in Europe, Africa and Asia. “The member federations have to make this event compulsory for all their athletes in order for us to have the big marketing and Television coverage,” he said.
