ST GEORGE’S, May 20, 2015 – Twenty-eight boxers have registered to compete in the 2015 OECS Boxing Championships scheduled for Grenada next Friday and Saturday (May 29-30, 2015).

Boxers from Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and the host, will trade punches at the Youth Centre in Morne Rouge over two nights.

More than a dozen bouts will be contested on May 29 as boxers attempt to advance to the gold medal night on Saturday.

“We are promising the Grenadian public a treat on both nights. Every boxer wants to hear his national anthem played. It will be none stop action,” said Ralph James, President of the Boxing Association of Grenada (BAG).

The BAG will announce its team on Friday following Thursday’s training session which will be held at the Tanteen Court.

The St Lucians are the defending OECS Boxing Champions.
