ST GEORGE’S, April 25, 2016 – The quarter-final stage of the Waggy T Knockout Basketball Tournament is set and the top eight teams will be in action this weekend at the Gouyave Hard Court.

Carenage United Generation, New Hampshire Blazers, St George’s University Knights, Lazarus Antoine & Associates Sallee Sixers, Windsor Forest Vipers, Steele’s Auto Tornadoes and Southern United will challenge defending champions Sissons Sparklers in the final eight.

Generation and Blazers, who scored weekend victories, will meet in game one of a double-header on Saturday, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Sparklers will use their home court advantage against SGU Knights in the second game from 9:00 p.m.

Two other winners from the weekend fixtures will clash in the first game of Sunday’s double-header.

Lazarus Antoine & Associates Sallee Sixers play Windsor Forest Vipers from 7:00 p.m. and Steele’s Auto Tornadoes play last year’s runner-up Southern United in the second game at 9:00p.m.

The tournament began on April 16 with 16 teams including newcomers New Hampshire Blazers, Unique Grenada Limited and Windsor Forest Vipers.

Blazers and Vipers are among the quarter-finalists with Unique Grenada Limited, Police, Geomax ACS Basketballers, LA Lions, Sweaters United, Trojans, Dookie 88 and River Road Lakers all eliminated.

The final of the tournament is scheduled for May 14 at the Gouyave Hard Court in St John.
